At the end of 1992, ETERNAL AUTUMN was formed. The intention of the band was to create brutal yet melodic music. After a
couple of line-up changes, a few live appearances and a handful of releases, the band decided to quit in 2001.
21st of June 2019. ETERNAL AUTUMN returned to the metal scene with an EP with four new songs. It is still death metal with a strong heavy metal influence!

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!

Bloody hell the vocals here are absolutely majestic; supremely dynamic with loads of variance in style while maintaining a visceral brutality. The atmospheric elements are gracefully and artfully intertwined but make no mistake, this is ruthless black metal first and foremost. Band synergy is also stunning and can be felt through my speakers; everything is just so masterfully packaged together.

This album really stands out because of all the bells and whistles here and there. Few times I had to click pause because I thought that some other music was playing in the browser simultaneously. But it wasn't. So expect some schizophrenia chills! totally recommend!
